LONDON WORKSHOP

The first of a series of ad hoc workshops called: Looking at Artists' Work TogetherThe idea is to learn about painting by taking a deep look at the work of painters.

This one will take place in two London galleries, Tate Britain & Serpentine Gallery, currently exhibiting the work of contemporary landscape-inspired artists, Cecily Brown and Huvin Anderson. Both these artists have a very free approach to their work, but in very different ways.

We will focus on their use of colour, compositional elements, intention, and mark-making. If the inspiration takes us, we might also have a little go ourselves with some sketches in the park.

No previous experience is needed, but a desire to improve your painting skills.

Expect a hands-on, sketching workshop, in the company of a like-minded small group.

Bring your own lunch, or we will buy from the cafes. We will end with a drink by the river in Hyde Park.

The first 5 people to book will also get a free ticket to the Huvin Anderson exhibition, which otherwise costs £18 (or free to Tate Members).

Date: 19th, June, 2026.
Time: 12:00-17:00

Information about what to bring and where we will meet will be sent when you book.
